W203 Coupe Wrong Tyres?

Good evening, I have taken the plunge and decided to have my 17" MB (AMG) alloys stripped and powder coated (colour: light anthracite) but I'm told that the fitted tyres on the rear are possibly incorrect: W203 C180KES Coupe @ 225/45/ZR17 (91W) specification. Should the fitment be 245/40/ZR17 (91W)'s and is your opinion that I change ASAP, can anyone advise please?
I'll send a report after the wheel-work has been done that may help anyone interested!

225/45/17 on the front
245/40/17 on the rear.

If the wheels are staggered, ie 8.5 inches wide at rear, and 7.5 inches wide at front, then the tyre sizes Howard suggests are spot on.

If they're not staggered, and 7.5 inches wide at both front and rear, then the tyre size you have is correct.

It is possible to run 225/45 on 8.5 inch wheels though - I do exactly that on my winter tyre set up.

i have c220 cdi sport coupe with sport package and it came with 225/45/17 front, 245/40/17 back
but most of the MBs c class coupe have 225/45/17 and this is a standard

Yes many people dont know that the wheels are a different width and require different tyres.

You should also check that you put the right wheels on the right axle!

Fronts are narrower... I think 7J and the rears are 7.5J. Stamped on the inside of the wheel.
