WOW... just had them fitted today.

My original C270 had 16" wheels on after I put 17" wheels on there was a huge gap between the tyre and the wheel arch.

This was the car in 2007 when i bought it - 16" wheels...

THis was the car in 2008 with the new wheels and HUGE gap

This is the 2009 version - lowered, just right I think...(sorry about the dirty example!)

Its exactly what I wanted... just dropping it onto the tyres. The ride is virtually the same and the handling and cornering is lots better. zero body roll. I don't like the really low slung look, I like the factory example and this looks just like an original sports pack option is fitted...Well impressed!

Cost £150 for the springs from POTN and a local garage £160 to fit!

More pictured will follow when its cleaner and a nicer day.

Do you know if the new springs are the same stiffness as the OEM ones?

This is something I have always struggle with. If one replaces wheels with larger diameter rims and the "correct" tyres so the rolling diameter are as original, how can there be a larger gap between tyre and arch?

Yes, I agree it does look bigger but surely it can't be.

It's an optical conclusion (as my duaghter would say!) :)

It happened to me on an old passat when i went from 15 to 17's... I dont understand why..

When my Merc was new there was an option for 17's, if I had taken it would they have lowered the car to make it look right or would i have had the big gaps again.... strange

I am very happy with it.. she just needs a good clean now!

Looks smart!!

I got the same springs on my C320 changes the handling and makes the steering more accurate, great piece of kit! Worth it!

You got your springs at a bargin price mine were £180 :(

I am just in the same situation. Had the same OEM wheels on my C240 and put on some 18" Carlsson wheels, however it also sits a little higher now. Looking at the exact springs, what was the drop, 30mm?? Looks great by the way!

Looks good, I went for the Bilstein B12 kit, which is basically shocks & springs.

It's fantastic, really transformed the looks & the handling - truly superb & highly recomended.
