The kit's power consumption is outside the tolerance for normal and xenon settings? Something about how some kits achieve that '35w'...
Sorry I don't understand? Are you trying to say, power is converted down to 35w from the 55w? So a load resistor wouldn't work?
Apologies, it was a question, I don't know how these kits work. Normal (OEM) xenons draw only 35w so coding the car to XENONS=PRESENT stops the error messages (and the flickering and eventual failure). The usual way to bring up the power drawn, say, by LED side lights is to put a resistor in the circuit but one must know exactly what the actual drain is.
Talking? There is no talking going on AFAIK! The car is told that either HID lamps are present or not and then checks to see if the correct amount of power is being used. If it's not then it tells you that a bulb has failed.*Update*
Took the car to the Independant today regarding some other fault. And asked him to do the xenon present setting. He said he did do it, but the computer couldn't talk to the aftermarket HID kit I have installed.
Weird? Either he couldn't do it, or he couldn't be bothered to.

There is no communication between the headlamps and any other part of the car AFAIK!
Where are you located??

Hi, of you still need this doing, pm me. I'm not too far away, it's a simple setting check in your cgw module.
