Sorry if this has been posted before but I can't find any info in the search.

I have a W203 C class that doesn't give a warning if the sidelight bulb has blown. I exchanged them for LED's but one LED turns on and then off and then on again and the other won't light at all.

Is it likely to be a bad pair of LED's or does my Merc not like LED's

Cheers

The car does not like them! Very common on modern cars. Go back to where you bought the bulbs and ask them for a resistor to bring the resistence up to the std bulb (check in your book what the wattage is and the dealer will calculate what resistor you need).. Wire this in as the instructions and off you go!

Add the resistor to bring the resistance down to the standard bulb!

Success at last. Got some new bulb holders and 27ohm resistors and made up a plug that fitted into the original bulb holder so that I can put the car back to standard if needed.

Now I know that it works I shall gets some MB lamp holders that fit correctly as the replacement ones needed tape to make them a push fit. I will also find the heat shrink sleeve that is in my shed somewhere.

A big thanks to everyone who has posted help on here. I would have given up and left the yellow sidelights in without it.

Thanks for the update and the piccy.
Glad it went well :)
