HJello (again)

Another issue I have is that the no 8 fuse located in teh boot keeps blowing as soon as it touches in. I hav eno idea what this is for - any help?

The remote locking is an issue in that it only works close up and the ESP visit workshop come on every day (as well as now BAS).

I tried to replace teh fuse but as I say as soon as it touches the metal it blows.

Any asisstance again greatly received.

Regards

J

There is a fuse map behind the cover on the drivers side dash end. see what number 8 is for.

Hi, yes I looked at it but it is for securty and locking I think but I am not sure why it keeps blowing, a short somewhere.

Yes. A short. I suspect a problem with the SAM unit.

SAM unit? OK, I'll have a look to see what price these are.

Any idea?

Thx again.

which one is for the seat? is it no.7? if you have a problem with the drivers seat backrest adjustment get back to us, but i think it is no.7. i think no.8 might be also for the overhead temp sensor fan, can you hear this tiny fan running? it is in the overhead unit behind the little grille.

boot release works, windows work , all electronics work, seats etc.

Just the cent locking from a distance doesn't

Remote not working from a distance

My remote central locking stopped working from a distance AND radio lost reception. In addition a fuse (can not remember which number) in SAM unit (in the boot) kept on blowing. MB dealer in Cardiff traced the fault to alarm system horn. Charged me £29.37 labour and £62.00 for new alarm siren (excludes VAT). Problem is now fixed - remote works at a distance and radio reception is fine too. Sorry I can not remember fuse number that blew as soon as you inserted it. My W203 is a 51 reg.

Fuse #8 on a W203 is for:
- window antenna amplifier(s), so no wonder if the door locks do not work from distance (probably via IR only)
- alarm signal horn (if the car had an OEM alarm or equally wired, the horn issue would match)
- alarm inclination sensor

I think I might have the same problem on my CL203

No 8 fuse keeps blowing, cdl remote only works close to door handle and radio reception is crap.

Just been out to try to find alarm siren but couldn't find where it is buried so tried setting the alarm off using key but no alarm sounding only indicators flashing.

Can you tell me where the alarm siren is so i can try disconnecting it.
