<div class="bbWrapper">i have the standard audio 20 in my facelift w203, it also has the telephone pre-wire installed (i'm using the MB hfp in the armrest) <br /> <br /> <br /> now my question is, can i replace the audio 20 headunit for a third party unit (in my case an avic f900) and still use the existing MB phone through the steering wheel<br /> <br /> i am aware that the avic has bluetooth on it, but i was hoping to bypass that alltogether and continue using the existing system, limited to dialling via the steering wheel controls.. but i'm unaware if the headunit is vital to this system working, or if the telephone pre-wire is a seperate system that simply links to the radio when in use. <br /> <br /> <br /> Thanks</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">failing that, anyone want to swap a f900bt for a comand ntg 2.5 unit <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":P" title="Stick Out Tongue :P" data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":P" /></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">buy a merc steering wheel adapter for the avic and use the bluetooth with the buttons ?<br /> <br /> works pretty well</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">No you cant use the factory phone system with an aftermarket unit.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><blockquote data-attributes="" data-quote="npuk" data-source="" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-title"> npuk said: </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-content"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandContent js-expandContent "> No you cant use the factory phone system with an aftermarket unit. </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandLink js-expandLink"><a role="button" tabindex="0">Click to expand...</a></div> </div> </blockquote><br /> Thanks, I'll stick with the mb unit.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">If your installing the NTG2.5 then your current pre-wire HFP cradle will be redundant anyway. The NTG2.5 has built in bluetooth so you would connect directly to the headunits bluetooth. But obviously NTG2.5 will work with the phone buttons and cluster display.</div>
