W203 xenon lamp problem

Hi,

My 2001 C320 has an intermittent fault with the xenon headlamp.

The o/s lamp will sometimes come on immediately along with the n/s, sometimes is comes on after a delay of a few seconds, sometimes it takes 5 mins, sometimes I can drive the whole journey and it doesn't come on at all.

The car has been plugged into 'star' by the local indie - who reported that there were no faults showing?!

Is this a common problem? (My friend has similar issues with his BMW 330)

I've changed the bulb - but have the same problem.

Swap the ballasts and see if the problem follows the ballast.

Not going to be much help but I have exactly the same problem, so if you do find out what it is please keep us updated
