My car politely flashed up today, to remind me the B2 service is due in 30 days. Lovely.

It'll be my first service 'experience' with the car, so looking for some advice.

I plumbed my details into https://www.mymercedesservice.co.uk/home and was quite shocked to see it said it's going to cost me £622

So is a B2 service really £622? Can anyone recommend a specialist where they've had a B2 service done? I want to keep my warranty in tact, so it'll have to be an approved specialist/service.

I thought it was going to be more like £400 when I looked online!

My B service was only £230 from my local main dealer, but that's in Inverness, they gave me a 25% discount, without me asking. It's worth shopping around and playing dealers off against each other to try and get a better price.

Yep mine is due in 30 days, same service and quoted £618 inclusive at Leicester Mercedes. They quoted a service plan which I've pasted for your info mate.

You vehicle requires a major B service and spark plugs, it does not require brake fluid as that was change in 2014 and should be changed every 2 years, so will be due next year, the total cost of the service is £618.17 inc.
I wondered if you have considered a Mercedes-Benz Service Care Plan, it will not only budget your service costs but will also save you money, as once you take a plan out the cost is fixed and there is no interest added, which will protect you from future price rises, you could include this service now due and pay either £90.00 per month for 12 months which will pay for 2 services including this one or £67.50 per month for 24 months for 3 services or £60.00 per month for 36 months for 4 services, or alternatively you can make a one off payment, these prices also include a courtesy car or collection & delivery charge.

Here's a picture, showing the breakdown.

For clarity, I think the '2' part of the service accounts for the additional service bit?

Haggle, and make sure you speak to the service manager, not the receptionist.

That's a different matter than just a B service then. It's a gearbox oil and filter change too. My dealer said mine was due next service, this would be an additional £250 from memory, so my total for that service would be getting close to what you've been quoted.

Parts are cheaper through mb Newcastle on eBay for oil they charged me £35 for 10 litres as opposed to £17.50 PER litre at my local all in saved my self £200 on my service just by buying my parts from Newcastle and serviced at Hudderfield my local.

The last b service on mine ( previous owner) from southport mb was £500 with performance pack plus service as well.

Like Paul has said shop around I think Stratstone dealers are slightly more expensive than others.

That's about the "right" pricing (around £300) for an A service on a newish C63, so it's astonishingly cheap for a B.

Although in reality there isn't a lot of difference between A & B services.

My A service this year was £186, the original bill was more than my B service, when I questioned it, the girl went away and said the oil was cheap at the moment and she would apply the 25% discount again. It's always worth asking, after all, shy kids get no sweets.

Trust me, no-one could ask nicely, and then firmly if needed, as much as I do! My dealer (Chester) has put relatively (compared to other localish dealers) aggressive pricing on MyService but they've said that's absolutely it now - they won't negotiate. I have a feeling MB has leaned on dealers to stick to MyService pricing so as to make ServiceCare look more attractive.

Have you looked at what your dealer quotes using MyService? ;) Honestly, I think I'd keep those prices under your hat! C63 service pricing has been discussed a few times and I've never seen pricing as low as that. One forum member in London was getting low pricing but said his dealer didn't seem to realise it was a C63 - I wonder if that's happening in your case?

The cost of a three year service plan for a w204 c63 is £1620 which equates to £540 per service, take one out when a B service is due to maximise value.

I'm fairly sure they know it's a C63, the big V8 under the bonnet and the badges give it away.

They've had it in for 2 services and tracking check/chamfered bolt fit, their prices are still good, much better than everyone else is quoting from myservice.

I have just taken out a 2 year service plan, £1080 because i was quoted £850 for my b service, needed everything doing so my next service can only be £230 with no surprises, plus i didnt need to find the £850 up front as its a 24 month plan, if it works out cheaper i will go for the same again when it runs out, this keeps it dealer serviced, i have the free roadside recovery for peace of mind and if the car does ever have a problem i can take it back to them. It is expensive but its an AMG.

Lol I was thinking if they don't know that I'm not sure I'd want them touching it!

That's a similar price as my recent B service for my C200 so for a C63 I'd snap their arms off for that price :)

As the Don mentioned if you take the service plan now it will work out cheaper as you'll be getting a B-A-B service, two expensive and one cheap one under the plan (if 3 years)

And your price includes courtesy, I have to fork up £30 for that each time

Sorry, couldn't resist. They do seem to have plenty of C63s, and exotic Mercs, that they look after.

Last time I was there, along side mine, there was a black series with that awful big boot spoiler, a silver one with PPP and a red SLS.

Fair enough. But they're not giving you 25% discount from the C63 pricing they have on MyService - it's more like 50%.

Why would they do that? It makes a mockery of the ServiceCare pricing (which I've always thought was a bit of a rip-off).

Had a B service today on my C63 at MB of Bolton. This thread got me to have a look at my invoice again - £476 of which £176 was bloody oil! Didn't pay much attention when paying. I wish I had as I'd have kicked up a bit of a fuss. That seems excessive to me.
