W204 C320 Drivers rear brake ,
Was driving along Motorway this morning and a vibration like running over rumble strips appeared , So did a check at different speeds anyway, I narrowed it down to brakes issue ( no warning lights or anything )
got to destination went to check front disk warm no issue went to rear tapped disk burt the end of finger swore very loundly to point lady across carpark thought I had slamed door on my hand
then went into garden centre and stuck my hand in fountain.
I have not long ago put new discs and pads and parking brake shoes on did not see anything odd so ethier its park brake cable or caliper
when got home used laser temp gauge after 2 hours it was at 28c-82f and looked bloody hot
any idea wich to do first cable or caliper ?

Lift the wheels off the ground (when everything's hot) and see if you can spin the wheels by hand . I trust everything turned freely immediately after you did the work ?

more likely to be a sticky piston if the outer disk is getting really hot I'd have thought?

Hi Pete just been out and done just that wouldnt rotate, did blocked it up put in natrual realised park brake so took wheel off put small screw driver in caliper little pressure it moved tryed wheel hub moved fine applyed foot brake then tryed again stuck so looks like new caliper will change disc because that showing heat stress and rusty orange on edge

Hi UPDATE
I do apologies I put this in wrong topic area
Right so bought new caliper , and new discs , pads , and 2 new flexi pipes for both sides
I took the claliper off and checked it it was def seized the disc was a burnt orange so off it came checked the flexi didn`t look bad but might have collapsed in side off they came both sides
flushed fluid through then took it for test drive felt a lot better so took wife for carvery which envolved a trip along motorway, checked fuel economy a little bit bet from 38 mpg to 52mpg and pick`s up better without a brake stuck on ( funny That who would have thought )
so now all I got to do is nurse finger back to health well at least its my middle finger and I have excuse to hold it up lol
