W204 Wheels on a W205

MyTyres let me down ... despite stating on their website that the wheels and tyres were in stock and available in days, there was no update on delivery after some 4 weeks!

I then went back to the drawing board and bought from mrwinterwheels.co.uk with the downside that they only have 17", not 18" available.

I did end up paying a bit more all in but have ended up with far superior tyres.

Wheels arrived within a couple of days but I'm waiting til December to fit unless more snow comes.

I'm assuming no action required on TPMS as they are fitted with OEM sensors and the car will apparently 'work things out' after a few miles.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for both the site and the confirmation on the TPMS Valves hopefully that they do figure it out over the course of a short run.

I've the same car as yourself, guessing your original set up is the following

Front axle: 7.5 J x 18, tyre size: 225/45 R 18
Rear axle: 8.5 J x 18, tyre size: 245/40 R 18

Was hoping to stay on the "18's but that site seems to do everything I need and isn't too bad value wise. Will do one more sanity check to make sure I am good all round before making a purchase.

Thanks for your help!

yes, the tyre pressure sensors will indeed sort themselves out in a few miles, if the system cant read them you will get a dash message saying that they cant be detected, when I swapped my wheels over on saturday it took about 10 miles for them to become active, may have been a bit less but didnt check.

I've managed to sort myself out with a set of wheels with sensors + winter tyres just waiting for them to come now ended up going mad and buying a set of Brabus wheels... bank balance is going to take the mother of all poundings....

Just got round to swapping my wheels this morning using the ones I got from mrwinterwheels.co.uk ...

They supply new bolts as they need to be a little longer than the MB ones.

Blank centres pop out easily and can be replaced with the original MB ones.

Test drive with TPMS display on console showed it took about 7 / 8 miles for the car to display pressure levels ... probably picked up the sensors immediately as there was no error message.

All in all appears seamless ... yes the wheels are 17", not 18" but they don't look too bad and I'm happy everything works and I have some quality tyres on them!

Did your wheels fit?
I am in the same position and the dealer is telling me they don't, even after telling me they would when I purchased the car.

Ok I have found the solution....
I purchased 15mm spacers, with 15mm extra length bolts & collars to accommodate the AMG 17" alloys from the 204 model. Result is they fit with no catching or rubbing. It has a slightly wider track, but hardly notable. Whether you could go down to 10mm is another question.
Cost was £91 for wheels spacers and bolts from Demon Tweeks, Wrexham.

What did you do about the TPMS Sensors? I'm interested as I've a set of 204 wheels which fit the 205, but no sensors as yet and it looks like to get them fitted will cost me more than the wheels and tyres! Fyi, National Tyres want £92 per wheel fitted and somebody else is £125 supply only.

Thanks, Ernie
