W205 14 plate pickup tomorrow

Just got back in, car was from Canterbury btw.

Wow, have to say my initial though is it's the best car I've ever driven.

Engine is lovely, even in Comfort mode there is no lacking power & you don't even notice it changing through the gears.

Steering is nicely weighted & direct and the ride quality seem just right.

Inside the quality is really a step up to what I'm used to with SLK's & an A Class. Nice materials have been used throughout & it was quite easy to find a really comfortable driving position fairly quickly. Really impressed with the sound insulation inside and sounds a bit ocd but even the door shut has a nice sound!

Burmester Audio sounds excellent, bass seems to resonate in the footwells and the DVD picture quality is also a step up from my SLK.

Managed 44 mpg through a mixture of A Roads & Motorway.

Mmmm I was thinking of getting an SLK, so AMG Line drives better, rides better, seats are more comfortable, steering is better, and cabin quality is better too. Maybe I will forget that thought then.

SLK might be worth a test drive though, they are still great cars

I wasn't having a pop. I just meant that the handbook MPG's are unattainable. I'd so love the car he's getting. Ant.
If you go by the trip computer then 64MPG is quite achievable in the C250.

I've regularly get in the late 50's to early 60's on longer drives. My record (for drive over an hour) is 72MPG when driving like a grandad but also recently got 68MPG on a drive from Sheffield to Southampton thanks to average speed limits and a bit of radio 2 / 4 to help the journey.

The car really comes into its own on the motorway when cruising - just effortless (and you can't hear the relatively harsh engine noise).

When you push on a bit you'll notice a drop to late 40's but that's still pretty good for something that outpaces quite a few motors on the road.

Of course, it won't beat the 350e for very short journeys but it does get closer to the stated MPG for real world mixed driving

I've got a C300h on order - I think this uses the same engine as the C250, but supplemented with an electric motor. Will be interesting to see what the MPG is like in comparison.

My next door neighbour has one and he's reporting high 40's to mid 50's for MPG. It's a little heavier than the regular car and from what people say there seems to be a knack for getting the best out of hybrids but I'm confident that it should perform just as well driven in the right manner.

My overall MPG from new to 39k miles is 51.3 so not too bad really.

I think you've made a cracking choice. I'd have gone for the C300h but the lease pricing was out of kilter as they'd just launched it when I was making my company car choice and it was £80 per month more expensive than the C250 (which was £10 per month cheaper than a C220 with an auto box).

I agree. Luckily it just came in at just under our lease limit. I went for Sport as the CO2 is only 99g, as opposed to AMG which is 104. As its a company car with a large p11d value that was quite important to me.

It's my first auto and first Merc, although I have driven some before so I'm really looking forward to mid-June!
