W205 Satnav Update issue

Hi All,
I have recently update the Garmin map pilot from Ver 2.3 to Ver 4.0.
Now the SD card is Ver 4.0 but the maps are not showing the correct version in the car as it still says Ver 2.3.
Mercedes service dept didnt know why or how to fixit.
Any help please.

I'm really sorry, I don't have an answer for you, more of a question - how do you go about updating the system???

Hi, no problem.

You remove the SD card from the centre console and put it into your PC's card reader. There is an App you can download from Mercedes/Garmin. When you run the App it will look for a Garmin Sat Nav card and check if any upgrades are available.

Are you sure the Garmin has been updated? The MB downloader not in,y dies the sat nav, but the system software as well. JBD would be the guy to talk to in here, he would be able to get the current version numbers.

I will update mine and see, there are huge issues with the Garmin system and I know Garmin themselves are not very happy with the grief they have been getting so I hope this is a Garmin update and it addresses the problems.

Right.
The maps haven't been updated, V2.3 is correct. The V4 relates to the actual sat nav software and how it runs. If you have speed cameras loaded you will notice the warning now appears as a banner across the top and not a red box as it was.

I don't believe that I have speed cameras installed at all, they don't show up and I can't find instructions on how to get them installed.

Also I have another problem ... I have put the SD card from the car into a reader and managed to read it on the PC. However, this looks nothing like the version that I have. In the PDF Owners Manual (titled "Garmin Map Pilot") the main menu shows a screenshot with semicircle at the bottom of the screen and "Where to?" and "View Map" icons above. I can't for the life of me get this semi-circle main menu to display. When I launch my Navigation it goes straight to the map.

As I'm getting more into this car I'm enjoying it more but I'm also getting more frustrated!!!

Update - I have downloaded the update program from Garmin® MAP PILOT - Mercedes-Benz Apps
However when I run the software it tells me "Please insert SD card in vehicle first". Well, the SD card has been IN the vehicle ... so what's going on?
