Hi, I've got the common LCD problem on my 2001 CLK - both the temp and clock LCD's have gone all funny.

I've had the cluster out and tried the foam/plastic fix but it hasn't done the trick for me.

Does anyone know of any place that can repair these so that the fix is permanent ? How much does it roughly costs to fix it ?

Thanks

LED Issue

I have this problem on mine too, I find if you run the car for two or three days with the aircon on you'll find the LED goes back to normal. I does not stay like this forever but it did happen in my car.

Not sure why it does this, but the cost to fix it is very high, I have come to terms with it and learnt to live with the problem.

do a few searches, there are a few fixes posted on the site.

I think this is the chap who came out to do my clk - nice guy i think he want £180.. he came out took the dash out, kindly put in my chrome rings - then realised he couldn't fix it because it was a slightly different problem than usual and he didn't have any replacement clusters like mine (the older style with just one screen) anyway he was meant to try and source one and call me back but he hasn't so far.. however, the act of removing and replacing seems to have fixed the problem anyway and he didn't charge me a bean

...which was nice
