Hi chaps.

I'm still discovering things about my CLK and mostly I understand what and why. I'm a little perplexed to find I don't have any kind of proper cup holder, but thats another story.

This one has me foxed though and I can't find anything by searching so I hope you can help.

Purely by accident I stopped the roof halfway up and found a small net divider above each wing.
One of them was unclipped by the tail lights and squashed into a ball.
I've sorted that out but wonder why they are there in the first place.

Is it a usable space with the roof down, because the way the nets fix lead me to believe nothing goes in there.

Can anyone elighten me?

Thanks.

Just to update this.

When I raised the roof recently I spotted a kink in the cover of the elastic which holds the net in place. This looked to have been created by pressure of the roof as it sat in the boot.
So I think the nets are there purely to stop you pushing something into the space from the boot which may then be damaed by or cause damage to the roof when it is folded into the space.

The cupholder was an option! When we ordered ours in 2003 in was a No Cost Option. It has never held a cup or drink but the mechanism is quite fun to watch if you like that sort of thing.

Ive recently installed a cupholder into the dash. half of the dash needs to be removed 1st though!

The picture of the cup holder, this is similar to mine without the bit on the side holding the can. I thought the the cup holder look different.

I managed to order my current c200 with no cup holder? Not sure why it's an option and not standard, never bothered to check. When I went to buy it later (it replaces one of the Bizet in the centre console) I had to point it out on a schematic because the parts dept in Stevenage couldn't find it with the C200 filter on.
Obviously we C200 drivers aren't meant to need cup holders.
All sorted now £27 later.

The picture above is the OEM cupholder from MB.

You will currently have the standard pop out tray.
