I have been meaning to sort this out since I purchased the car...

Basically the drivers head rest is stuck right at its highest level and will not go down....however when I fold the seat, for someone to get in the back, the head rest goes down automatically, but once the seat is clicked back in place the head rest moves back up and is not able to be moved????

Anyone encountered this problem or have any info?

I had the same problem.i found a loose connection under the seat.then reset it by taking it to its highest position and holding the switch for 5 seconds then repeating for the lowest position. ;)

no luck im afraid...i know it's connected up properly as the head rest goes down when the seat is folded forward

Needs to be connected to star... sounds like the hall sensor in the motor is faulty but may also be a problem with the switch..

Mine does exactly the same.

First day I got it I put the seat up and couldn't get it down again. Had to push the bar under the seat with my foot to release it.
Managed to re-program the memory seats so the the headrest was lower and now don't move that seat. The kids have to use the passenger side.

Begrudge paying £80 for the Star reprogram. Will have to wait until there are several things needing done and then get them to look at that.

i have this same problem only its with the passangers seat. What i did was remove the biggest conector under the front of the seat then plug it back in and it worked for a few mins in the time it was working i moved the head rest down to the lowest point and saved it in to the seat memory 3. now if i need it down i just press mem3 as it will move up but not down.
Just a quick question my seat has the same prob but with it the seat heating wont turn on eather just wondering if you have the same problem.

If memory serves me correct - If I lift the drivers seat, the headrest extends fully and jams into the sunvisor. What I have to do is push the seat down from underneath with my foot and move the seat back into the seated position - now with the headrest up full.
Then while standing outside the car with the key in the ignition I lift the lever to raise the seat and the headrest moves down from its upper limit. I take the key out quickly.
Then I get into the car and put the key in while holding down the headrest button and it moves down. At the correct point I stop it and save that to memory.

As it is such a palaver you can see why I don't let the kids in my side.

My guess is that it gets stuck mechanically beyond its upper limit but those in the know think it is electrical and a reprogram may cure it.

Personally I will live with it until I get around to getting it fixed.
