Hello all
I have a 2001 w210 e280 Elegance with 215 65 R16 tyres fitted ,the exhaust hits most speed humps, with driver and one passenger. The Data card for this car says it has a sports chassis ,it has a tow bar fitted so i assume it has been used for towing . the car drives fine
I'm concerned that the ride height may have been tampered with, current height is 63.5cm ground to top of wheel arch. can anyone confirm the correct ride height for this car
It could be that the rear springs a due for replacement along with the shocks
thanks

paul

Sorry , its a saloon

You have oversize tyres...the standard for your car is 215/55 16.

And, are you measuring a front arch or rear?

My rears are 65.5 and my fronts 65. Though the tyres on your car are taller. The best measurement, to take tyre size out of the equation, is to measure from wheel centre to the top of the arch.

measuring from wheel centre to the top of the arch 333mm front and rear
The tyres where fitted when I purchased the car so I thought they where correct for the car. the Rims a 8 Hole light alloy

Mine is 365 at the front, it's an estate so the rear doesn't matter. I have an Avantgarde, which has lowered suspension. So...yours is too low. Check for broken springs.

Thanks for looking at your setup
I am wondering if it has been lowered , I will have to get it up on jacks and try to measure the springs this is my first MB , would it have an effect on handling if I changed the springs. Looking online there are different colour springs and then there is avant-garde and elegance setups too , I suppose I should try and get it back to standard setup
