w210 E300TD (98)187,000 miles.....just run in.

Car starts fine when cold, and runs lovely, all day long unless you stop it. Then needs cranking for 10 or so seconds two or three times... to get it started..when hot. Sometimes I worry if the battery can take it.

10,000 miles ago replaced glow plugs and refurbished the injectors
5,000 miles ago replaced all seals and plastic fuel supply lines.
Glow plug indicator lights, then goes out and stays out
Been running fine then just started playing up this weekend. Any help would be welcome.

Possible crank sensor issue.

Shine a torch underneath the inlet manifold and see if there is any small leaks from the delivery valves on top of the fuel pump. Mine needed doing at the 175,000 mark.

Turned out to be leak from the gearbox electronic plug connector. This caused transmission fluid to travel up the wires and contaminate the gearbox ECU which was sending a faulty signal that the car was not in park.

Thanks for coming back with a "solved ", always nice to know what has gone wrong and the cure.
