I've noticed some coal around number 2 injector and although not making any noise yet I'd like to sort it out before it gets worse.
I've bought 6 new injector stretch bolts and copper sealing washers, mercedes injector grease and an injector puller set(laser tool no4762)
I've also bought a Mercedes tool to clean the injector seats(W611589006800)
I'm just wondering has anyone ever used this tool to remove injectors?
It says in the instructions to use the 29mm window socket to screw the nozzle head off the injector.
Then it says to use the 10mm hex extracting key to remove the insert from the injector.
Then it says to place the support shaft over the injector and screw the shaft into the injector and finally unscew the inserted shaft anticlockwise drawing the injector out.
Is it ok to dissasemble the injector in this way?(I'm just replacing the seals)
I've read through some posts on this subject and I'll obviously clean around the injectors as best I can before attempting removal.
Any of you seasoned mercedes mechanics got any tips for me ie what is best to soak the injectors with and for how long?Wd40,coca cola!?
I'm looking at the copper washers and am thinking are they slightly convex?which way up?
Sorry for the long post but I've never done this job before and want to get it right first time!
