I have genuine AMG monoblock alloys 18x8 front 18x9 rears.

The wheels were fine for the past couple of years however recently the car has developed a vibration from the front end.

Everything suspension wise seems good. The mechanic advised me to get some spigots for the front wheels as they don’t sit on the hub correctly.

I know these are genuine wheels and have a centre bore of 66.6 which is correct for the w210.

What would cause the wheels to all of a sudden have a centre bore which is too big?

I'd suggest going to a different mechanic ...

Hubs can corrode specially on a 210 !!! Perhaps at one time a tyre fitter was a bit eager with a file removing corrosion if a wheel was stuck on the hub ?

I am assuming your mechanic is referring to the the extra thin metal "sleeve" spigots ?

"The wheels were fine for the past couple of years however recently the car has developed a vibration from the front end".

This suggests to me that the problem is not the diameter of the centre-bore on the wheels.
How ?? Why ?? Both wheels ??
The vibration could be a whole number of things.
Are the rear wheels the same as the fronts ?
If so - Swap the rears with the fronts.
If the front-end vibration is still the same - Then it ain't the wheels.

It could be all sorts ... shockers ... shocker mountings ... wheel bearing ... engine mountings ... suspension joints ... drop links ... etc

It’s just the front n/s wheel . Luckily I had an extra wheel as my spare was also an AMG monoblock.

Swapped over and it sits on the hub as it should. The one which was causing vibration you could tell the centre bore was too big for the hub. Part no on the back of the wheels is exactly the same!

I’m stumped right now but glad it’s sorted. Going to put a the original steal wheel back in the boot for the spare as I don’t feel comfortable with the f***** wheel
