W210 rear camber. . .

Recnetly had an MoT on my E class S210 estate and they found one of my rear tyres worn down to the wire on one side, and very close on the other.

I checked my camber and its 2 degrees neg on both sides, which I know is far too much. Question is, is there any way I can adjust this to bring it back in spec??

I think the reason it is so much is because of the weight I always carry in the boot lowering the rear suspension causing the neg camber to increase.

I thought the estates self levelled regardless of weight?

They do. But one of mine did the same( the other had been replaced before I got the car so can't comment on it).

You cant on the rear of a 210.

I suspect the top arm is bent or the bushes on the arm are shot.

My view is that the camber is not far out for the state of the constantly low suspension.

This almost permanent ride height you have demands that you go to get the rear TOE checked out (and probably adjusted) for that ride height.

You should have it done with your typical load in the car.

I have checked and adjusted the toe on the rear and it is perfect manufactuer's spec with the load in there, and the tyre tread is not feathering, its just worn right on the inner edge.

When I measured the camber it is neg 2 degrees on both sides with the load in, which is far more than Merc state (cant remember what it should be)

I will check both top arms, but I would have thought they are ok as camber is exactly the same both sides and its just passed MoT so bushes should be ok.

I thought the 210's self levelled too, and tbh the ride height looks ok, maybe just a bit lower than standard.

Hi Paul
Mercedes do make a camber adjusting kit for the W210 which replaces the original non adjustable part originally fitted. I believe it’s a bolt but I am not sure of this. A good tracking company will advise you but the parts are Mercedes’ only and are not cheap.
Good Luck
Mike

Thanks for your help guys, will report on how things turn out!
