Hi apologies for length of post but this is my first time on what is an excellent site .

I have a 2000 reg V plate E320 cdi estate avantgarde, tiptronic box which has a factory fitted Sat Nav, Cd, TV, Telephone, Command unit. I believe it is a DX cd used for Sat Nav Command??
  • I put a cd cleaner into the command unit and it will not come out, is their anyone out there who can tell me how to get it out. I have pressed the eject button to no avail it makes a whirring noise but nothing ejects and I can only think I have to dismantle the unit. If I have to dismantle the unit how do I remove it from the console without shattering the carbon fibre surround etc. Please can anyone help with Janet and John step by step instructions thanks.
  • When I press the TV button the display states it it is not connected, is their any way of connecting the TV?
  • My cd autochanger works ok the cds change but the unit skips and jumps around a bit when playing, can you recommend what I should do as I am loathe to use a cd cleaning disc in case that sticks in the unit.

Bodywork
The car has been off the road and had major warranty repairs (new bonnet, both front wings, four doors - peel back the rubbers check your door tops they rot like mad, inner wings, sill repairs, rear arch repairs inner and outer, rear tailgate, rear wheel wells-inside) the body work cost totalled in the region of 10.5K all free from MB at an MB garage.I did sk if they wanted to buy the car back but they said no although they have bought three W210's back from owners due to poor corrosion although I think that was in Germany. You have to be thorough as MERC main agents are reticent to highlight corrosion and freport it to ESKO labs for repair approval as the repair authorisation is based upon photographic evidence. I rejected the car three times due to poor paintwork and damage to the car sustained whilst in the MB bodyshop. I returned it to the body shop to get the paint right, I will detail my experience later but tenacity, not accepting poor work and sticking to your guns have paid off. Also I can recommend Robin Lamb Merc specialist in Gloucester UK & Mercedes Benz Bristol (Arranging bodywork repairs, ask for Alan or Aine great people).
Robin Lamb fantastic guys, great service, really helpful nothing to much trouble and his technicians have more qualifications and experience than MB garages in Cheltenham & Staverton compiled (honestly not a a boast) 50% cheaper labour rates than MB. I cannot recommend anyone else in the area.
Please help with stuck cd if you can, thanks I am going to have a go at MART AD post to sort my LED problem out on the dash this w/e so will keep you all posted.

Thanks again

Welcome to the Forums.

There is a good chance that the CD is catching on the lip of the slot.
Try slipping a piece of thin card (such as a business card) under the disk and then ejecting it.

The rollers that pull the disk out get greasy over time (or hard) and slip - if you look in the slot as you are ejecting it, you can probably help tease the disk out. (as said above)

I describe how to dismantle the comand and clean the rollers on www.mercupgrades.com !!

Best fix i've found is to press the eject button whilst having a blunt cutlery knife partially inserted ABOVE the disk itself and pushing down gently as the disk tries to eject. It usually pops out then.

Had the same problem - pair of long noise pliers and out it comes. Trouble is the CD unit of the command system pre dates some of the CD cleaners with the little brushes and they get stuck - if you are worried about the cd a little masking tape on the jaws will save the disc

You're 4.5 years too late henrivan!
