Hi i went to a Remap company today and was surprised with the results tbh.

First surprise was that the car made 225.1 HP completely standard?? when in actuall fact its a Straigh 6 engine which is suppost to have 204 hp i believe?

Secondly, once the Tuner finished "writing" up the program, he uploaded it to the cars ECU and done another Dyno run. I was surprised with what i saw.

281.5 HP

470lbs Torque

He was happy with this and we took it for a Road Test to see how it responds and to check the functionality of the car before releasing it to the customer. (ME) When we were out and about i asked him whats the max you have seen from these 320 CDIs and he said. "The ones with lower milleage and newer touch the 300hp mark and nearly 500lbs of torque." I was shocked!! This is far more then what i was expecting. But to me this is just a figure. What matters is how it competes on the road. But still

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

How did this happen i don't know. But damn does it fly now!

edit - i will upload the Dyno Graph tomorrow, i left the graph at work as i was going aroundd waving it at everyones face lol.

What age & mileage is your E320 CDi?

Did you do a timed 0-60mph run before and after?

I had a 2004 In-line 6 E320 CDi which was remaped and was expecting 204bhp but on the dyno pushed 220bhp and was re-maped to 267bhp and around 440lbft

Mine was around 60K miles at the time.

^ I would like to know what mine has now... its WELL run in :)

I know it 'feels' quick and I gave a Scirroco 'R' a run sometime ago just after fitting the Brabus box... He was supprised (as I was) a big bus went so well :)

Here is the dyno, I would like to see a 350 CDI [265] remapped.

What was the company called mate

I don't want to burst your bubble but an 80bhp increase from an IL6 is unlikely.

My Brabus box, sanctioned by MB, claims 48 extra horses and I think that's optimistic.

I've been to a couple of group remaps (organised on here) where IL6's went from 204bhp to 250bhp (ish), and a V6 went from 231bhp to 265bhp.

Have a look on the net to see if you can find others reporting such gains - and I suspect your figures are fairly unique.

Dyno does what dyno man tells it to do at some establishments (unfortunately).

Funny thing is i agree to the above...

I reckon that's a 'heavily corrected' Flywheel output figure!

A true at the Wheels figure would be no where near IMHO!

I don't think Ray would do anything like that, People that have been to him can vouch. I was shocked at the Figures my self!

And I can't disagree as I don't know him it his establishment, but both cars gaining more than 70bhp (over quoted standard) were at the same place :dk:.

Anyway, if you're happy, that's the main thing.

I've had my CDi dyno'd at Surrey Rolling road as well and that came to around the same figures it was at the wheel but est around 271bhp fly, If I remember correctly.

Dyno figures mean nothing at all, it's how the car drives and feels after the remap is how I judge the West-Tuning remaps.

Do they actually write there own files or does another company do them?

Indeed, he downloaded the file from the car, and disappeared into his office writes his own custom file, and tests on the Dyno and tweaks it.

I'd say the before and after are both about 20hp optimistic given that standard spec is 204 and manufacturers figures are done on engine dynos, not rolling roads which can only give approx flywheel figures at best.

Good gains though regardless of the headline figures, so I'd still be happy with that :) Not that I'd bother with an E, it's hardly a track weapon ;)

Mine had difficulty on the dyno as the car kept changing gear due to massive torque so couldn't get figures.
