Only just bought the car and the driver's seat electric headrest doesn't go up or down. Rest of the seat works fine. Bit of a bore because it's stuck in the highest position.

Big job, little job?

Can someone mechanically challenged attempt to fix it?

Thank you in advance. Kim

Getting inside the seat is fairly simple - there are two screws at the bottom of the seat back (the bit in front of the rear passenger's knees). From there on, you're on your own. Does it make any noises when you operate the switch?

could be motor or the switch

Our GL passenger seat headrest wasn't playing ball until I 'assisted' it whilst pressing the button and it now works perfectly!

Maybe you will be equally lucky....

Thanks, have just tried that.

No joy.

I know this is an ancient thread but I was moving my headrest up and down recently when it abruptly stopped when in its fully extended position.

Pushing the headrest switch up and down I could hear a faint click so assumed the problem must be confined to the motor area.

Anyway, I removed the two torx screws at the bottom of the seat back and let it fall back to find the power feed to the headrest motor was not plugged in (the cable had been wrapped round a part of the internals and when fully extended had run out of travel and just pulled out.)

Freed the cable, plugged it in and voila - easiest fix ever! :bannana:

Was expecting a burnt-out motor or some soldering to need doing etc.

Hope this helps someone.
