W211 E270 Gearbox oil ( Again !! )

I know it's been covered 100 times already, but I'll ask again anyway.

W211 E270 2004MY. Gearbox oil.........went in to all parts and they list Coma ATF Sand PAS fliud, semi-synthetic, on the bottle it says ' meets MB 236.6/7/10/12 spec.

I don't mind buying the MB oil, but surely Coma( ESSO ) wouldn't list it if it's not good enough.

Thoughts and inputs and recommendations please educated people.

Providing you know what spec you need you could try sorting out approved alternatives from this

Maybe easier just to buy from parts dept at MB!

People get caught up with buying fluids from the dealer. MB do not produce their own oil, there are umpteen aftermarket suppliers.

Any decent transmission specialist will tell you that ATF Dexron 3 and above is fine for that gearbox.
