W211 E320 AMG
Hi All, I'm new to this forum so excuse me if I'm going over old ground.

I have a W211 E320 AMG and am looking to replace the current 18" wheels to New 19" AMG Type 3, (CLS 5 spoke), 8.5j Front and 9.5j on rear.

Ideally I do not wish to lower the suspension and need advice on the best tyre profiles. Thinking of having 245 40 19's on the front and 255 35 19's on the rear.

PLEASE HELP - Any advice is appreciated, (pls attach pics if possible).

Welcome...do a search in the wheels and tyres forum stickies...there's a chart there for wheel/tyre combos.

245/35 on the fronts, 285/30 on the rear. The tyres you mentioned have too great a side
wall size.

The profile of the tyre is a percentage of the width, thus a 285/30 has a side wall 30% of 285, which is 85.5mm. The front is 35% of 245 which is 85.75. Thus both tyres are almost exactly the same height.

But a 245/40 would be 98mm, and the 255/35 would be 89.25mm...far too big a difference, and both too big anyway. The cruise control would not work if you fitted those tyres.

With the correct tyres fitted to the 19s, your wheel/tyres will be the same height (diameter) as your present 18s. So the height of the car off the ground will not change, nor will the tyre fill the arch more than the standard.
