W211 E55 Cat Recall

Had the E55 collected today to sort out the parking sensors under warranty, and was told I'd be getting new cats under warranty - yay.

Thought I'd share with other owners, as a trip to the dealer could give your car a little present

Whilst the car was at the dealer (MB Redhill) the salesman who sold me the car gave me a ring to say how cool he thought I'd made the car look

Nice one!!.........I am curious though did they were alright with the warranty after all those mods?

Yep, no probs - they can only invalidate components that are directly affected by mods, so lowering module could cause a prob if I have a suspension claim, but not if I had something unrelated, like a radiator fault

Thats great then as most companies would find any excuse to get out of the warranty. I love the car............

Are those SL65 rims you have?\What size tyres are you running now?

Nope, they are 19" AMG Style IV Titanium in E55 fitment.

Can't check the tyre size, as it's still a the dealer - cats are fitted, but it needed a new PDC sensor, which needs painting and fitting.

Weirdly there was an issue with the number plate surround affecting the two centre sensors - they've replaced it with a thinner holder and no more errors. Wasn't an aftermarket one either - it was on the car when I bought it.
