Was looking on the web today after my tailgate on my S211 fell on my head. I too found SGS after getting a quote of around nearly £100 for each strut from MB!!! Called PFS and Rob there managed to locate a set of Febi Bilstein struts. These work out to around £150 delivered. Will give it until the weekend and follow this post to see where it leads to.

I located some for my car from a seller called autoteile-preiswert on ebay.de Cost about £50 for the pair delivered. Fitted one today before I ran out of light, and problem solved. Damper looked to be by the OE Manufacturer.
