I have a 2007 E280cdi with ILS. A few weeks ago the right hand xenon went out and an ILS inoperative error accompanied this. I turned the lights off and on again and the light came on again. It then worked for a while and went off again.
My i980 tells me that the error is e2m3 right distribution cylinder motor is either low voltage or overheating. I swapped the ECU ballast with the left one but the fault remains with the light. I have replaced the xenon bulb ( its a D1S ).
If the motor is faulty why does the light go out. Can the ILS be disabled other than on the light set up? Could this be a wiring fault or am I into a new headlight or is it possible to change the motor?
