W211 Service indicator won't reset- "Calculating...."

Hi,

Just carried out a full service on my W211 E320CDI and would like to reset the service indicator.

However, on the main dash display in normal mode it says "Service display not possible"

and on the service reset page

"Calculating....."

How do I turn it back on?!

Have you already reset it? From memory, it takes a few days for th countdown to start as it takes into account the driving style in order for it to start giving a fresh estimate as to the number of days until the next service.

Give it a hour or so and it will probably come back.

Do I leave the key in the 1st position with the calculating sign showing?

No. Just leave it or drive it.

Just left it for well over an hour and it still says calculating....

Any suggestions?

Its based on usage/mileage - just ignore it, in the next few days it will calculate and show correctly.

Oh just noticed when this was posted, i assume by now its working as it should.
