W211 Speaker size

Just something that might make you laugh.

Hahaha, something recently like this had happened to a friend. Ah the details us petrolheads go into for our pride an joys! but can't for a second remember anything else

Hi Ad,

Hi Ad,
So I looked at your subwoofer, the KSC-SW11 the RMS on that unit is only 75 w.
Is that enough power for you?

I’m going to consult my friend today about the pop that you get with switching your stereo on and off, and then I’ll get back to you let you know what can be done about it, if anything?

I see that you’re in the south-east, I live in Gravesend where do you live mate, would love to come and have a look at your car at some point?

Sorry for late reply, was travelling and only checked forum today. I'm near south london-ish area. Don't mind meeting up sometime. I was actually going to go to a place near Gravesend for powdercoating the air intakes.

How did the investigation go with the amp pop from ignition off go?

Hi Ad,
Apologies for the late reply back to you also.
I had a word with my car, stereo, installer/friend, and he told me it’s usually to do with the amplifier.
He said it’s usually poor quality (his words, not mine) amplifiers.
To be fair though, I just installed a PRV4 channel amplifier into my friends car, and it also pops when you turn it on, but does not pop when you turn it off, if that makes sense?
Needless to say, you get what you pay for.
On some other related news, my 6000w rms amplifier has failed on me. 😡
PRV has asked me to send it back to the USA as it’s under warranty and it failed within the year.
Just goes to show that 6000 W amplifier is £500 and the same amplifier rating from HCCA/Orion,
is nearly £1000.
Hope this helps mate.
How are you getting on with your 6 1/2 inch front speakers, are they installed yet?

No worries Harpo bro all is good. Sorry to hear it failed man, thats the last thing you want especially when you buy from oversea's. Headache returning etc. I noticed the pop on my one only happens when I turn the car off but leave the key in ignition a few seconds too long.

I went ahead and ordered the plastic adaptes from ebay. Still waiting on it to be delivered. Im thinking of using nut rivets along with some butly tape to secure. Also grabbed some sound deadening. Will update once I get it all together.
