W212 Analogue Clock stopped working

Has anyone else experienced the analogue clock below the command system just stopping working?

I've only just noticed that its set at the 12 o clock position and doesn't set itself to the right time anymore.

I've tried to set the time automatically & manually in the command system, I've unticked everything and reticked it all but no joy.

Its a W212 MY14 E63 AMG and its an annoying niggle

it will be going in for a visit but I'm fairly new to the MB world having had an XF since they first came out and i knew that car inside & out, even if i couldn't carry out the fixes myself, i always want to know why something has failed.
