Anyone any idea how much this costs for 1 year/2 year? Looking at buying a car currently but manufacturers warranty expires in May next year.

Andrew

most threads on here refer to a cost of c£2600 per year

Wow that is serious money when you consider that if you buy from Mercedes direct they include 2 years warranty! Think I'll keep looking for a car from a main dealer.

You can get a quote for a warranty price on this site provided you have the registration and approx mileage.

Note that the £2600 quoted above is for the older W212 2014/15 model and won't apply to the newer W213 E63.

which why a MB dealer charges a lot more than an Indy dealer for the same car...

I have been quoted £495 for 1 year or £950 for 2 years from Mercedes with the car coming up early in the new year. Which I think is reasonable.

Mine was 2016 model, after my AMG warranty ended, I was quoted £1700 from Mercedes for one year. That was June this year.

That's fantastic, I hope the prices are like that for me after my standard warranty expires late next year.

The £2850 I paid was a shift change by Mercedes - no excess when I bought mine in September - rather pay the £250 excess each time - I'm presuming yours is this version Mucky.., since inception of my warranty I've saved £516 in 2 months lol...so on course to get it back in a full year:rolleyes:.

It's quite a jump for a vehicle that is only a year older.
When I got the Merc quote at £1700, it was still less than Warranty Direct who wanted £1800 ish.
Mine is like an E-class with a seat missing.

Hi Adam

Did you purchase this warranty then?

Yes I purchased the warranty, touch wood I haven’t had to use it to date but couldn’t grumble at that price. It is for a 67 plate and do about 8k miles a year so not sure if that helps on the renewal prices.

Thanks

Was it December 2020 when you purchased it?
Did you get any options on a level of cover?
I'm a 68 plate.

Your price is a lot less than my offering for whatever reason, and I do less miles, about 6K a year.

It's definitely a good thing you've not had to use it, speaks well of reliability.

Yes purchased in December but didn’t get given any options it was a flat rate. I was shocked at the price but wasn’t going to argue. I can pull out the paperwork tomorrow and drop you a message on the cover it says etc if you want?

I'd really appreciate that Adam, if it's not too much bother please.

Cheers

if you continue MB warranty whilst still in warranty the price is cheaper, if you let it lapse it almost doubles. Also anything over 5 years old it goes up too.
