W215 Electric Control Unit

I recently purchased a CL500, lovely car, great bang for the buck.....
.....However, the back windows don't work and the battery is dying overnight.
I took it to a local MB Inde who has replaced the wires in the door which I understand is a common fault due to the way the doors open, didn't fix the problem.
So he then took out a control unit from under the front seat and said it was this that needs replacing but can't find the part second hand anywhere but is this really the problem?

Can anyone help who has come across this before, I know there must be someone out there.

I have seen it before.

I doubt you will find it second hand. If you do it could have the same issue.

Buy new is my advice.

I had this and it was a control unit under the rear drivers seat... Around £300 from mb

Thanks, only trouble is that MB retail don't seem to keep the part, I will post the part number tomorrow, I don't have it to hand.

Could this unit also be the cause of the baterry drain?

They will order it for you.

It could cause a drain amongst many other things!!

Do you know what the part number is, and what it isw called?

You don't need the part number. Just call your local mb dealer, quote your chassis number then ask them what part you need. They will look it up for you. Quite often part numbers change as they modify the parts as the years go on.

It's called the "rear end control unit".
