Looking good Abb, nice tasteful mods IMO.
Looking forward to seeing your choice of wheels.

Personally, I like the chrome bits and would like to add a bit more to my own CLS following the crease at the bottom of the doors, but for a black one I can see how "stealth mode" really suits it.

My reversing camera keeps dropping out of its holder. For a complete non-mechanic like me, now you've fitted one, how easy would it be to swap just the holder and/or camera lens bit on its own?

One thing I didn't notice until today, that it does not have the stop/start function, nor the adblue! :)

No Adblue tank - Does
that mean you get a spare wheel with it?

TBH mine doesn't seem to 'click in' place either, certainly more movement than the one fitted to our ML.

It is a matter of moving the boot handle trim, I can send you what I used.

Looking great pal - 100% agree with you on de-chroming, I too have a pathological hatred for it!

When you change the alloys, will you be going black with them too? Might be a bit too stealth, I think a gun metal grey would suit?

While it was there, the guy was kind enough to fit the rear boot lip spoiler I had purchased. Fitted using 3M tape.

From a different angle..

Just need the tailpipes to be fitted (yes I have bought some OEM CLS 63 ones) and that is it for now! :)

Future possible mods:

Window tints (lightest possible) Only considering this, due to the wrap guy mentioning it to protect the leather from the rays.
Change of wheels
Wheels Spacers
Where did you get the boot spoiler from? I've been looking around at doing almost exactly what you've done to your CLS. I love my CLS, but I despise chrome, and the CLS has it in spades. I also hate silver wheels. I've never understood why silver is the norm, so I'm currently looking at getting mine powder coated black.

Coincidentally I've also been looking at wheel spacers for the back as they just seem to sit too far in board and having measured it seems like 20mm would get them to where they need to be, so I would be interested to hear what you go for! I'm not sure the fronts need anything.

The spoiler (OEM) was bought as used on eBay. I would have used an aftermarket similar one, which come pre painted if I hadn't have come across this one.

The wheels, mine are 'burnished silver' which to be fair I think suits the wheel. Am torn on wheel colour, certainly not going black, swaying towards anthracite but may even stay silver!

Thank :) Definitely not going black with the wheels, actually considering staying silver but that may be too much of a contrast whereas the anthracite would be a good balance! :dk:

Anthracite would definitely look good. I'll be keeping a keen eye on what you do with spacers though!

The choice.......Vossen VFS2 currently in silver. Purchased from a member on here.

I never had any luck with 3M tape on my last CLS, in the summer sun in the heat it use to get so hot the spoiler would just slide off. I ended up using StickaFlex on it.

You need to check what your offset is on your wheel. Decide how much further you want the wheel to sit (in mm) and buy the appropriate spacer.

Once you know what your original ET, minus the width of the spacer and this will give your your new ET.

Not sure the size's of your wheels, but I ended up getting 2cm H&R's on the rear and 1cm H&R's on the fronts. - perfectly line up with the arches.

I have these in 20x9j and 20x10j IIRC and will be running 255/30/20 and 295/25/20 as per recommendation.

Wheels are in need of a refurb, unsure wether to run them as is and see if I need to change colour when they get refurbed:dk:

I will then make a decision on the spacers.:)

No Abb!!!!! Get them refurbed! Shame to put them on such a mint and as new car without a refurb :)

I’d stay silver personally as I think it’d contrast nicely :) but obviously it’s a personal choice! Either way car looks great and some nice mods :)

Thanks for that, it helps. If your current ET is the same as my 19" wheels (34.5 front and 48 rears), using the online calcs with my new wheel specs mean they would currently stand out 11mm more at the rear and 2mm at the front.

So a 10mm spacer on the rear would mean it was 1mm more than your set up (could I get away with that?) and the front would also get a 10mm spacer, but again can I get away with the additional 2mm on top of your 10mm spacer?

Yeah that should still be legal. I need to do a photoshoot of mine with latest mods. Will show you the wheels etc

A minor update. Managed to get my paws on some OEM AMG exhaust tips, advertised as being removed from the CLS 63, however I think they may have been from the ML 63 as the ones on the CLS come as part of the rear boxes from what I have seen, unless they changed them so the removable 'finishers' as they refer to them as (ie not attached to the boxes).

Took them down to a custom exhaust place and he worked his magic welding them into place. I am pleased with the results although it may not be to everyones tastes ;)

As it was....
