W219 2010 350 CLS Grand Edition

Hi. Had the car to a local Merc dealer for its "Visual" (or £270) service. Appears they checked my tyres, changed a charcoal filter, told me I had a scratched number plate and smearing wipers and not a lot else. Ive asked for a list of work done as they've kept the invoice.
Asked them to update the Satnav while it was there. Said they would do it as a goodwill gesture with a disc they had at the dealership as it was now out of its 3 year update period. When I got back I was told they'd tried to do it and we're unable to. I've been offered the updated discs for £100, a complimentary head unit update to allow this to take place and they will do the job. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi,

I've just got the same as you (mine's 2009). Awesome motor!

I believe there's a TIPS document that says they should update the COMAND firmware for free, which will allow the latest maps to be installed. If it's £100 for the very latest map version, then that's a good price.

I notice from your bio that yours is remapped? Was it worthwhile? How much & where did you have it done?

I believe it was Celtic Tuning that did the work , I have been trying to contact them regarding a price to do my CLS but as yet (after three e-mails) there has been no reply.

Strange their "economy" tune gives you 20hp more than their stage 1 tune ??

Blimey! Those figures are insane! Weird that the Economy tune has more power & less torque increase... Shame they're in Cornwall - long way from Kent!

They are mobile and do the tuning at your home / work , the chap that has had the work done lives on the East coast of Scotland.

Hi there. Cars remapped yes. I had it done a fortnight after I got it so couldnt really tell as I hadn't driven the car much prior to it being done. I DO know that it is RAPID and very smooth. Id recommend Celtic to anyone. It was done on my drive and I'm Northwest of England. About an hour from Carlisle. Cost was about 250 quid.

I received a reply from Celtic today , they have an outlet in Clydebank (A4 Audi) that will do the remap for me but the price is a fair bit more than what Jacko paid.

I will pop along when they re-open after the New Year and see what they say as to the price difference.

Went for Stage 1. Economy originally but it didn't feel right so got them to change it.

It felt to me like it was running out of puff too early. It might have been me imagining it mind you!
