Steering rack was replaced by previous owner and steering is still heavy
I replaced sps solenoid and drained out oil and put mercedes correct oil in the old oil looked bad .
Steering has got a little better but still not right

Questions
What voltage should be at solenoid at stand still
We're is the other end of the cable located
The fuse for the solenoid located and size , any help welcome

Thx guys

Hi update I fitted a new power steering pump
New power steering rack
New sps

It is better but I feel still not right
I have a e320 cdi estate and steering is. Lovely

The cls is basically the same car steering is I would call heavy it can get light a very slow speed like 10 kph

Any help welcome

I think I need to find out what voltage should be at sps
It's fuse 47 ,
5 amp in engine bay

The cls and e class are 2 different cars, have you friend another cls to compare? It might be how it should be.

No I don't unfortunately I have had four wheel alignment done and tracking all good
The front was out due to the usual subframe bend you get on w219 cls
But fixed with new camber bolts with in tolerances

It's a strange one

Does your CLS have parametric steering? If so may require STAR to reset parameters

I'm not sure it has a sps solenoid on rack
And none on steering pump like some models
It has electric steering wheel adjustment which I think is standard on cls

I'll put on star which I have but I can not find any references to sps is it called another name maybe

On star

I'll do some more digging

Update

Ok checked whole system all ok

But noticed that the front wheels are turned in on top both sides the camber

So after buying the w210 camber bolts and fitting them I got car tracked again and it seams to have fixed the problem

Really happy now
