06 CLS 500
Hello!

Long time lurker. First time poster. I picked up an 06 cls 500 a couple months ago. The command would not start up. I would get the MB logo for a few seconds then off again. I figured out it was the nav drive in the boot that was breaking the most loop so I bypassed the fibre optic there. I finally bought a new nav drive which the seller insists works but I still have the same problem when I install it.

Both drives give the same symptoms and seem to have no power. no noises when i press eject and will not accept a dvd. Now obviously the second drive could also be faulty, but perhaps someone has experience where there was something else wrong? I've checked the fuse 3 and 6 in the boot and 28 and 26 in the car. All fuses are fine, I've put a multimeter to the connections at the nav drive, I get 12v across the brown and pink wires, assuming brown is the ground! I get nothing on the red/white wire.

Any help would be appreciated! I am in bristol, maybe someone knows somewhere nearby that can diagnose. Short of taking it to comand online in surrey.

Also would a mercedes specialist be able to tell anything by hooking the car up to star?

I believe you have the car booked in with us at Comand?

It sounds to me very much like a wake up fault. We can diagnose it and hopefully fix it for you.

Hi. I've emailed alright but not yet booked it in, its a bit of a drive for me. Do you have any availability on the morning of the 15h. I'm driving bristol to southampton and I could go to long way round through surrey.
