Ok, no worries! As far as I can tell, it's hard to get one for less than £140 new. Let me know how you get on!

Lovely car James. I cannot believe it is a v12 with biturbo!! Your car looks so discreet and elegant just like a normal s class until you see sideway what it says... Welcome to this forum!

Thank you! I'll get some more pics up tomorrow if I can

Don't worry too much about the ABC etc.... Just drive it & smile!

Thank you! I nearly went for a CL65 as couldn't find a W220 S65, but I missed out on the one I wanted. Luckily then my one came up! I think the CL's are awesome looking. Have you taken to a track or tuned it in any way?

Haven't taken it to a track yet! I have the eurocharged ECU and TCU tunes. I first thought that with the power the car already had it would be hard to make it any quicker - how wrong I was because with the ECU tune it is unbelievable at how quick it gathers speed especially in triple digits!

Exactly just do as Skhan says.... Drive & smile! and worry about the problems when they come

Yes welcome. One of the best mods I have done on the CL is to have a Quaife LSD fitted, I might keep the wheel on the road for a little bit longer !!

I have been quoted £700 to have it tuned with a guaranteed increase of 70bhp. Does that sound reasonable? The quote was from MSL. DMS quoted £1500+VAT....

I got my ECU tune direct from Jerry at Eurocharged in USA as at that time Eurocharged UK was not open. Can't recall the exact price but was a bit less that 700. I think MSL install the Eurocharged tune. MSL are one of the top guys on here for servicing, tuning etc just search for them and you will see all the good reviews they get from fellow members on here. I spoke to Acid (MSL) a few times on some queries I had and he is one very helpful guy. Give him a call and I am sure they will sort you out. As for DMS I have no real experience with them but I did get a price when I was looking at the eurocharged tune a way back and the price was silly figures.

I would certainly endorse this - makes for far more fluid progress, especially at lower speeds.

Stunning car James, welcome to the fold! Look forward to seeing more pics and what you do to her!

I was looking originally to get a CL600 but the maintenance costs scared the life out of me. Saying that, the CL55 isn't all that cheaper but at least I know the drive train is less prone to big bills!

Brilliant, all good info, thank you. On another subject, a message came up today telling me to add 1 litre of oil. Am I right in buying 04-W0 fully synthetic? I think the last guys to service it used Mobil 1.

Wow what a car..... :) enjoy it mate and don't worry about the bills. Cross that bridge when it comes :)

I have done a lot of research on these v12 engines and own one myself.

These engines are very reliable and you will not find many issues, the coil packs are the main engine issue which you have dealt with and this is a one time fix.

The only other issues is the engine mounts as they are difficult to replace so the labor can be costly.

The last and most expensive is the ABC. You said your pump has been changed which is great. You must keep a close eye out for ant weeping from the lines and would even be worth changing all the rubber abc lines as preventative maintenance. If you see the car drop on one corner or behave in any strange way do not drive it get it fixed as this will save huge bills in the long run. I am talking north of 10k if the whole system gets contaminated.

The v12 are by far the best value cars on the market today so enjoy. I would second the quaife LSD as your next mod, check birds auto in slough.
