As per title I'm after one of these. I want one from an enthusiast website as in theory an enthusiast would look after their cars more than the examples I have been to see so far!!

Got a set budget Dave? Good luck in your search and try to drive both before deciding whether you want the 55 or 63.

Hi mate, Originally it was £10-£12k but Im looking to up my budget to around £17k if a 63 comes along

but Ebay being Ebay I dare say he will probably get messed about!

Unless its a serious buyer bidding the winner probably won't show. Too much of that on eBay when bidding unseen. Saying that, I've bought and sold two cars and had no problems using eBay.

hopefully for him it will all go smoothly as it is a stunning car.

This one looks interesting although pricey even with those upgrades for a 2003.

Used 2003 Mercedes-Benz AMG E55 AMG for sale in United Kingdom | Pistonheads

Acid at MSL can probably tell you all about this car as he is supposed to have serviced the car and done some of the mods. Love the wheels too!

Looks a pretty awesome bit of kit but Im mainly buying this for my Mrs so to give her a 700BHP motor to drive our little girl around might be asking for trouble!

Have you driven an E55 yet Dave?

Your missus will have kittens if she presses the loud pedal a bit too much. It really cannot be compared to anything she has probably driven before:eek:

I agree....that 700hp beast is too much:doh:

Haha yeah we have both driven the E55 and also tried a C63. She really wants a Vauxhall VXR8 but I dont think you could even compare a VXR8 to a E55/E63

For what it's worth, there were a handful of Monaros at Vmax Starfire a couple of years ago. I don't know the difference between a Monaro and a VXR8, but they did put in some very impressive top speeds.

However (and it was sad), more than one went pop.

IIRC, only one (of many) MB was poorly, and that was a car which was used for experimental mods.

MB for me. Of course. Good luck :thumb:

I've not driven one (yet) so I can only go by reports in the press, but as an engaging drive, the latest E generation of the VXR8 quite possibly pips the E63 and M5, however that also means you lose out on the waft-ability that the E63 can do so well.

I really like the previous generation VXR8 which what I suspect you wife quite likes. I wouldn't rule it out until you've driven one. They're great fun, although they can be a bit "shouty" and so may not be as subtle as the AMG.

Buy C200k s car. I've seen it and it's lovely

Near impossible to compare VRXR8 to E AMG I think.

The VXR8 says a lot and is a engaging drive. However it says a lot and is an engaging drive all the time no let up im afraid. If thats what you want then thats all good.

E Amg is just such a great blend of everything, cruiser or performance car you can pick and choose.

One thing I will say its a great dilemma to have, good luck.

You cant beat a good V8 can you! I did even have a look at the CLS 55 but found it a bit too small...
