Warranty Direct Warranty - What do you think?

Yeah I totally agree with what you are saying it was for a bit of peace of mind for me, but luckily it has worked out in my favour but granted it won’t for everyone
When I bought my A7, I was quoted £120 per month for a warranty.
I kept the car for 4½ years.
I claimed for a Gearbox Repair (reconditioned Metronics Unit), after 4 weeks, on the original dealers free warranty.
Dealer price £7k. German Specialist £4k. Done at a Backstreet Gearbox Shop next to the Dealer for £1200, with a 24 month guarantee.
I find most problems show up in the early days. Fortunately for me!
Had I taken out the monthly warranty, I would have paid in excess of £6480.00 as it goes up with age.
Not much peace of mind when added up!

I didn’t take up the opportunity to renew my AMG warranty @ £1700 per year
In the following three years, I’ve change both batteries £200,
Three coil packs failed £36 each, and Aircon pressure sensor £85,
I did well not taking it.

Would the batteries have been covered?

I wouldn’t have thought the batteries would have been covered, I’m just listing the amount of items that failed in 3 years without a warranty.

Most warrantys arnt worth the paper there written on in my experience

My Battery was failing 3-4 weeks into ownership. Even though it wasn't covered on the 90 day warranty, they paid for a new one, as a gesture of goodwill. That wasn't a paid for, extra warranty though.
These AGM Batteries are not cheap. Around £270. for mine!

Even if batteries had been covered by a warranty, then that repair shouldn’t ever have been funded by the warranty company, nor is it goodwill regardless of what the dealer may describe it as.

If the battery (or anything else) failed at 3-4 weeks into your ownership then in law it is considered that the fault was present at the time of sale, and it’s therefore the dealer’s legal obligation to repair the fault.

Which they did. But you know, as well as I do, Dealers always spin things, to make themselves look like the good guys!
I had already mentioned that I had 6 months of cover with this 'Present at time' Law.
But why fall out with people I my need to visit again?

You're asking about a Tucson and in the user info it says MG. In all seriousness and please take no offence, but are you some sort of advertising AI bot?

How have you made your way to a Mercedes forum, signed up, and didn't know you posted in a Mercedes forum?

But regardless, welcome. People are helpful on here so please stick around.
Hi Mr Greedy

Thank you. MG was just temporary. And I recently bought this new car.
