Can someone please tell me if there is any warranty on engine after Mercedes do the service and same with the gearbox?
I've been told by independent Mercedes garage that for example if Mercedes serviced gearbox the gearbox is under 1 year warranty. So I contacted Mercedes saying that they serviced the gearbox around 3k miles ago and it looks like the oil pan is wet so maybe is leaking or something else. I've been told that there is no warranty on it so why would the independent garage said that this is under warranty? He said that he won't charge me for checking that/fixing as Mercedes main dealer should do it.

It won’t be under warranty, but if they haven’t done the job right in the recent past then they really ought to put it right.

Professional services provided by a business should be just that - professional. If a MB main dealer changes the ATF and filter that does not mean that the gearbox has a warranty attached to it - but it does mean that you have a right to have that service completed professionally - which would include it not leaking. It may be that the sump bolts have been over tightened and that is causing the leak - in which case it probably needs a new sump pan and another fluid change.
I am afraid that not very many main dealers will accept liability for putting things right unless you can 100% prove that it was their fault. If it were my car I would have a look myself, remove the undertrays and then book it in to MB and confront them with the car on the ramp - but that may be easier said than done.
Good luck.

If your leak is the gearbox sump and it's due to poor workmanship at MB, as long as it's within a reasonable time frame (under a year) then MB should fix it for free. I've had the exact same thing happen to me at a transmission specialist - they reluctantly agree to inspect it, then fixed it for free.

If the leak is from somewhere else (engine for example) be prepared for a bill for the inspection from MB!

I had a similar issue with the Kia a few years back, the dealer changed the ATF and a year later diagnosed a leaking transmission pan seal.... but because the Kia had 7 years warranty, the crafty service manager at the dealership had tbecseal replaced under the 7 year warranty and charged Kia UK for the work....

But the short answer is, as jobsworth said: the workmanship and the parts used are covered by warranty, but not the car itself.
