Water leak through rear lights

Hi,

Found water under the carpet on my CLA last week and have traced it back to the boot of the car, found water accumulating in the corner of the boot and running down into the rear footwell when i sprayed the rear of the car with water (around the rear headlight).

I have attached pictures of where I think the leak is coming from, noticed the rubber trim is above the body work allowing water to run down the back of it, is this normal? Does anyone know how the water can enter the boot from this location?

I wonder if someone on here maybe have had this issue before and found the problem and fixed it. I was driving and when I braked I heard water sloshing about on the drivers side it sounds like it’s under neath the car where the jacking point is it sounds like it’s in the skirting bit . Please dose anyone no how to fix it as I don’t want it to go rusty . Many thanks
