water leaks in an R129

Hi,
I have tried this advice regarding the door trim and although the panel will come off, as explained. The bolts that are under the trim do not seem to do the same job on the late model SL :( However I did findout that you can adjust the window drop by removing the silver plate at the top of the door and making adjustments to the medium screw that is hidden under the rubber flashing.

Thanks for the help anyway :)

Peter

Update :) I have spoke to MB about this and they have said that the problem is most likely to do with the trim around the complete edge of the hardtop and the matching one on the top of the windscreen running round the A pillar

cost = £450
plus fitting :eek:

As I have only 1 years NCD, and i'm now 25 yrs old I'm thinking of just claiming a complete new soft top, and new hard top seals off the insurance.

:) only thing to watch is that many insurance firms will indeed protect your NCD but then add a couple of grand to the premium so watch that one :)

Well I phoned them a nd my plans are scuppered. They say the damage must be the result of an accident or malicous damage, thus I cannot claim.

Maybe I'll just wait a couple of months then put a knife through it :devil: Anything is better than paying £1800++ for a new soft top. My excess is only £350 ;)
