Weekend pleasure car to complement your AMG?

I’ve given some thought to an SLK too. I’m 6’3” though and thought I’d read somewhere that the seats are pretty un-adjustable in them? Hoping this is wrong as I’d like to give one a go some day.
Tombstone seats can be difficult to get comfortable in. Worth taking an extended test drive.

Lovely example!
Prices for Corrados are on the up. Sharp examples are selling for £20k+ and the rarer ones (like my Storm) are in demand if the provenance is good. The prices for fast Fords (RS Turbos, Cosworths etc) seems to have peaked but I think (hope) that classic fast VWs are the next in line. A good Golf GTI 16V Mk II for eg would be a good investment I think.
I had all this in mind when I bought my Corrado but it’s so good to drive that these intentions are now all out of the window. Sod it, I’m owning it to drive it - on roads like these.View attachment 145651
I totally agree about driving them. This is my “weekend“ GTV V6 outside the Alfa Museum on our road trip last year. I find it quite frustrating to drive in the UK, especially being in the South but on the Continent its a hoot. Mine has a full Alfaholics/Autodelta exhaust and being the Busso V6 the main challenge is deciding to go over the passes or through the tunnels!

Yeah I have those factory fit 6 spoke Solitudes on mine. The Speedlines in your pic were for the standard VR6. Both are great wheels.
My car is 100% OEM as it left the factory in Osnabruck in 1995 - I agree it could be modded but that’s not an option for me with this car. I want to keep it totally original. I have full provenance - even down to knowing it was the 8th Storm off the line, out of 505 made (250 in Mystic Blue like mine and 255 in Dragon Green).
Mine was a std one with the 5 spokes...not a Storm. I got confused thinking the one above with be BBS was a Storm.....doh!

As am I - the last MX-5 I drove I had to sit looking over the windscreen, the seat just wouldn’t go low enough or far enough back.
Are you long in the trunk? I’m mostly long in the leg and don’t have a problem. A google search suggests the NA and NB are good for up to 6’4” people. Seats don’t have any height adjustment at all, so pretty limited. The model I have doesn’t have the tombstone seats which might help

Never really thought about it - even top and bottom I suppose 😂. I also had the same problem when driving a variety of Italian exotics on various experiences.

That is gorgeous. The Busso and the VR6 are two of my all-time favourite engines. Busso FTW.

I've just fallen down a Saturday morning Alfa wormhole. Currently browsing 3.2 Brera S's. Yeah I know they're not Bussos but just look at them!

That's a tight fit!
Indeed, winter mode when the AMG gets garaged but used, while the Elise tends to hibernate so don’t need to get it out so often

Nice LFA. What's the other car at the back?

That's a great combo, one for crossing continents and the other for dissecting a B road.
Two other cars hiding, you can’t see the BRABUS smart forfour hiding behind the AMG. Gold car at the very back is my Lancia Yntegrale, in simple terms a Y10 body on a shortened integrale 8v floorpan so tuned 2 litre turbo engine, 4wd, etc

They are pretty and the interiors are also lovely! A good GT car.

Thanks to all contributors so far, I’ve loved seeing these cars.
My personal favourites so far are @Cyclone1 ‘s Fiat 20VT Coupe and @kcsun ‘s RS4 but there are many more to admire in here.
I thought I was mad when I bought my Corrado as a weekend pleasure toy but this thread has made me feel less mad (or at least mad amongst friends!).
