Weight of M117 engine

Hi all

I am trying to find out the weight of a 5.6 litre (Or any M117) engine.

I've found one place which say it is roughly 300 kilos but would like that backed up or possibly anyones experience.

The one sat in my garage is simply heavy, but I have no way of measuring it.

If you can put it on a pallet or similar you can weigh it with bathroom scales.

Put a brick or wooden block under each corner, then go round the corners one at a time replacing the block there with the bathroom scales. Add up the 4 readings and you have your weight.

They normally read up to 150 kg, so you should be fine unless the engine weighs over 600 kg (pretty unlikely!).

I should have mantioned i'm also a few thousand miles away from it.

I may be all sorted though now though, fingers crossed.
