Weistec Charged Ordered!

How is that better than spinning the standard supercharger faster? Genuine question - not an argument!

Spinning any supercharger beyond its optimum efficiency can be catastrophic for the engine because more hot air is forced down the intake manifolds than a charge cooler can cope with cooling. Bigger capacity chargers work at lower boost (spin slower) and can flow more cool air in.

Hi Ash, mint condition mate. Not tested it, but looks perfect.

How much power are you anticipating making when it's all installed and tuned etc?
 
Cheers bud I'll take the plunge then. Just getting all my info together for my car and I'd better get saving as I wasn't anticipating going head to head with you on a build by Acid. All good fun and exciting stuff , the more I look on the Weistec site the bigger my shopping list gets !!!
 
Hi Abdul, haven't a clue. Will measure my car as standard and modified on my own dyno though!

Ha! Yes Ash, was speaking to Acid and he said you were doing it. Gonna cost a few quid this one but hey, I only use the SL55 during the summer, so an ideal time to do it!
 
I haven't used mine at all yet !! Still waiting to get it back from the main dealer. So I'll only know what the car goes like once it's been modified , must be mad

Hi Chris, you don't get a throttle body with the conversion. The Weistec charger comes with either 74mm or 82mm plate on it.

So just got a genuine Merc one.

Sorry mate, didn't mean to be patronising, never wish to come across like that if it did.

Both Mercedes parts, just the elbow to the charger is different, got a cheap 82mm so couldn't resist saving it.

Not patronising at all John, very informative to be honest

I'm just not understanding why an OEM 82mm TB (albeit cheaper) and not a Weistec 82mm TB if you're going to the expense of having the Weistec S/C fitted. :dk:
If no difference in output then fair enough :thumb:
