I haven't done the wiper plate thing yet.

The load cover rod goes like this; pop apart the load cover handle, slide out the rod (don't let go of the cover or it might wind fully back and you'll not be able to get it back out). Insert the new rod, there is an O/S and N/S so make sure it's the right way round because the load cover handle attaches to the rod through the cover. Then just snap the handle back into place, voila!
