HI,

I have a 2014 350ce (e class coupe) IDK what the proper model number is for it

this is the first mercedes that I've owned, its ace really comfortable etc. The rear passenger footwell is wet and when you step on it water comes up throught he carpet. the front is a little damp, I pulled back the carpet and there is some wetness/water underneath it.

I have put strimming wire down the windscreen drains and cleared them out as they were a bit filthy. this has not resolved it.

does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks
Rob

There will be other drains which may be blocked. Given the rear is worse, try in the boot surround and sunroof recess - there may be a blocked drain there.

thank you,

for the boot drain, when i was it it looks like that runs down either side of the apatureand then over the bumper is that not what its supposed to do?

sunroof drains, any idea where they might be or is it a case of poking around?

I couldn’t say on your particular model, best take a look and see what you can find.

Hi Rob, the a/c207 which I think is what you have has a little trick of collecting water in the sills. You may be able to hear it sloshing about when you stop and start. It collects because the drain holes get blocked. If you take the fixing out of the jacking points the water will come out. It may be that yours are full up and the water is backing up causing the wet footwells.

Oh thats a good tip ill give it a go. The sun roof is not leaking and the drains are clear.

Is there a way that i can stop the sills filling??

A well respected independent mb specialist advised that the water is supposed to drain through but the drain holes are poorly designed/positioned hence the build up of water. They cure it by drilling holes through the plastic jacking pads to allow the water to drain out. I did it myself as it was easy to do. The pad has a large plastic screw in the middle which holds the pad in. Unscrew/pull it out (watch out for the water) and drill a hole in the centre. Replace it and you are good to go. I did all four but the rear ones seem to do all the draining.
