Looking at brake pads there seems to be a vast array of choice from about £20 up to £70.

What should I be fitting?

OMP is pro race stuff I had them on SWMBO Racing Puma, Interesting enough I bought them from YB racing as well they were brilliant under all conditions with very little dust, others I would recommend are Ferrodo DS1000 and Pagid are also good. The next set I will try will be the new ones that have come out from Sparco developed in conjunction with AP racing

If they are designed for race use how do they perform in a road car? Do they need to be at a particular temperature to work efficiently?

The ones in the link are for road and sport use (spirited driving) so you don't have to get them up to temp to work they work very well straight from cold.

The one designed for race use are branded OMP Pro and like most race pads they do work a lot better when warmed up, with cold temperature braking they do take a little bit of getting used to as they are not as good as standard pads.

No problem at all, brakes are something i've experimented with over the years, my CLK is currently running AP Racing calipers, Goodridge braided steel flexi hoses, Kunifer brake pipes, AP RAcing 600 race spec brake fluid.

But I have to confess I can't remember what pads are in there I know they were Pagid Pro but I seem to remember I swapped them out but cant remember what to :o Will have to look you got me thinking now.

Out of curiosity where do you buy your pagid pro pads from Ian?

The last set I had were when my BIL had the Motorsport business so I'm not sure where they came from. IIRC they are branded Pagid RS and on the box it says for professional use only. I'll ask him who the supplier was this weekend :thumb:

The pads arrived yesterday so may be a job for today. Just been reading about sbc. Not sure if I have it or not? I will let you know the outcome of the omp pads though, once fitted.
