What do you want to know?

Is there a software update to display instantaneous MPG over 40 by the trip computer ? I have a April 14 Reg Class E and it does not show above 40 mpg even in a motorway! I drove a Volvo earlier and along with the speed, the instantaneous MPG display enabled deciding optimum speed to drive. I am really surprised by this limitation which is a big let down ! An old 2001 Volvo was better?

Hi JBD,

Hoping you can give me a ray of hope, here goes...

I've ordered a C350e in Polar White with PP and Night Package as a company car. Initial delivery estimate was 6th December, now revised to 3rd January 2018.

Can you advise if this is usual - 24 week lead time?

Thanks in advance.

There isn't one that I'm aware of, sorry

It's completely down the the allocation of the company you ordered from. We all have our own allocated build slots. I'd expect no more than 3 months through us

Hi JBD - thanks for quick response.

I believe we are supplied direct via Mercedes-Benz Corporate Fleet - maybe retail dealers/customers take preference?

Hi, i've just purchased a 2014 E63 estate from a Mercedes Main Dealer. As part of the deal they have chucked in the Stargard leather thing (meant to be £399 or something). Is it any good or should I continue using normal leather cleaner etc? They also said the outside is done with Stargard polish or something? Worth it or shall I have it taken off and polished using usual products?

Thanks

Or they've just sold everything they have! As I said, they all get their own allocation. There's no preference between them, demand much be high

As long as you've got the aftercare kit, continue using the stuff supplied. It's not bad

Ahh well, just keep my fingers crossed - just had one for the weekend and really impressed with it.

Went a saw JBD for my test drive on Saturday and ended up walking away having ordered a fully loaded C63S Coupe in Designo Selenite with black alloys. Here's the final product:

https://configurator.mercedes-benz....616&accountID=daimpcuk,daimpc,daimpcoveralluk

James was excellent throughout and the test drive was epic. That noise, that speed, I was sold before we even left the forecourt! Did me a solid deal too.

I did wonder how anyone drives the C63S and doesn't buy one. The car is incredible.

Now the long wait until March 1st....CANNOT WAIT!!!

Absolute pleasure! I think it's going to look mega! Thanks for the positive feedback

I did send an exploratory email to my lease guys to see what possibilities there were to ending it early and getting the C63S sooner! I'll let you know :)

So, I discovered a new unheard of Mercedes model yesterday by accident. I was searching for an E350e saloon on the factory system and found two E300h pre production cars that had accidentally been left visible.

I rant head office and they seemed rather shocked that I knew what it was. From what I can see, it's a petrol hybrid (not plug in) potentially with the new generation two litre engine.

They suggested that it'll be out next summer. Seems to be good news to me, as all the petrol E Class' are performance models at the moment

My mistake, looks like it's a plug in hybrid. It also has a petrol particulate filter [emoji33]

More direct injection gasoline cars are going to need particulate filters to manage down tailpipe particulate numbers.

Most petrol engined car tailpipes are black with soot, whereas DPF equipped diesel tailpipes seem pretty clean.

Have you got a release date for the new (217?) CLS James?

It's possibly out in 2 weeks at Frankfurt

In other news, I got confirmation today that the new A Class is out in September too [emoji51]

Sorry James, but any idea why the E350 coupe and cabrio have been pulled from the build your own gizmo on the website? Is it because they're going to put the straight 6 in them now?

Cheers.

Hmmmm. They rather quickly pulled the SLC250d from the market last week, so that may be the case. I heard today that they're making some rather drastic changes to the diesel model range. I think they're under pressure to roll out the new engines earlier, rather than waiting for the old ones to run out

Couldn't wait until March 18. Terminated my lease early on the Maserati and pushed the button on the C63S for the earliest build slot available.

Seriously, no patience but I've fallen for a new beast.
